***Postponed*** Ethics and Social Work Conference 2020
April 6, 2020 - 8:00 AM to 12:30 PM

*** POSTPONED!***

The health and safety of students, faculty, staff and community friends remains UNC Charlotte’s top priority. The University has been monitoring the rapidly evolving situation around coronavirus (COVID-19) and has been working in close collaboration with local and state resources.

After careful thought and consideration, UNC Charlotte has decided to postpone this event. This was not an easy decision, but a necessary one in protecting the health and well-being of our campus community.

We will let you know when the University is able to reschedule this event.

Registration for the Annual Ethics and Social Work Conference is now open! The Conference theme is "Care in the Shadows: Providing Services at the Margins of the Latinx Community." Social work professionals attending the conference will receive 4 contact hours

All conference events will be held at the Cone Center of UNC Charlotte Main Campus (use the visitor parking on the Cone Deck).  We will begin in the McKnight Auditorium.  Registration ($50; waived for students and faculty) includes parking, along with breakfast (networking session with professionals and students).

The keynote presentation is TBA.

There are two breakout workshops:

  • Track #1: A Model for Latinx Youth Engagement: The Alianza Youth
Facilitated by Jessica Montana, MPH, CHES(R), Denisse Sanchez, BS and Fabbiana Gutierrez, BA
  • Track #2: Breaking Down Barriers: Meeting the Needs of the Latinx Community
Facilitated by Alba Sanchez, CSAPC,  ADETS - Latin American Coalition - Immigrant Welcoming Center - Manager

The breakout workshops will be followed by a panel discussion on mental health issues.
