"Right vs Right: Unexpected Ethical Dilemmas in Philanthropy"

Michael Marsicano, PhD

Marsicano_Michael2_FFTC

President and CEO, Foundation for the Carolinas

Bio for Michael Marsicano

Goodwill philanthropic enterprises like foundations would not immediately come to mind as having ethical dilemmas because we tend to think of ethics in terms of right vs. wrong. While foundations are not immune from right vs. wrong dilemmas, they more frequently face choices between right vs. right.  Michael Marsicano, President and CEO of Foundation For The Carolinas, will discuss unexpected ethical issues the Foundation has faced as well as a more expansive view of ethical dilemmas facing the greater charitable sector in our community.

Co-sponsors:  The William M. Barnhardt Family, the Center for Professional and Applied Ethics, the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences, the Office of the Chancellor, and the Belk College of Business
